Why run LocalBox on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+?

LocalBox services can run on almost any desktop computer or server, so why choose a tiny Raspberry Pi?

The answer is not simply that the Raspberry Pi is small or inexpensive. Its real strength is that it can provide useful local services in places where conventional servers, reliable electricity, and dependable internet connections are not always available.

Small computer, simple power

A Raspberry Pi 3 B+ runs from a 5-volt power supply and often uses around 0.35A to 0.5A during normal operation.
