Products and services

LocalBox Zen provides .za domain registration support, nameserver setup, free domain parking, DNS setup, email setup, website setup, Raspberry Pi hosting, support, and related technical services for artists, NGOs, schools, local projects, cooperatives, practices, companies, individuals, and small groups.

.co.za domain registration is shown as an estimated R150 service. LocalBox is starting with new South African .za domain registrations; transfers, existing domains, international domains, hosting, email, support, hardware, education pages, information pages, portfolio pages, and custom work may be added or quoted separately as the offering broadens.

Payment terms

Prices are shown in South African rand unless stated otherwise. International display amounts are estimates only. A service starts only after the price, responsible contact details, and payment route are confirmed.

For domain-related services, payment does not guarantee that a domain is available. A domain is only secured after successful registrar registration. Nameserver, parking, and hosting choices may be confirmed or adjusted after the order is created.

Refund and cancellation policy

If a paid domain cannot be registered because it is unavailable or rejected by the registrar, the domain registration amount can be refunded or applied to another available domain.

Domain registration fees are normally not refundable after a domain has been successfully registered, because registrar and registry charges are committed at registration.

DNS setup, email setup, website setup, support, and other technical services may be refunded only if the work has not started. Once setup work has started or has been delivered, refunds are handled case by case based on the work completed.

Monthly hosting or support can be cancelled before the next billing period. Past periods that have already been used are not normally refunded.

Acceptable use

You may not use LocalBox services for spam, phishing, malware, fraud, harassment, copyright infringement, illegal content, or any activity that harms other users, networks, providers, or the reputation of the service.

Email and website abuse

Bulk unsolicited email, deceptive contact forms, abusive automation, fake identities, and attempts to bypass security or rate limits are not allowed.

Suspension or termination

We reserve the right to suspend, restrict, or terminate a service without notice if it is used for spam, illegal activity, security abuse, non-payment, or activity that creates operational or reputational risk.

Domains

Domain registration depends on registrar availability, registry rules, correct responsible contact details, and successful payment. A domain is not guaranteed until registration is confirmed by the registrar.

Payments and renewals

Renewal fees, DNS changes, extra mailboxes, custom work, hardware, and hosted Raspberry Pi services may be charged separately. Basic LocalBox parking can be provided at no monthly cost unless additional services are requested.

Backups and responsibility

We aim to keep LocalBox systems simple and recoverable, but each customer or responsible contact should keep copies of important website content, email, files, domain details, and account credentials.

Support and changes

LocalBox may update software, security settings, DNS routes, spam controls, and service limits to keep the system reliable and safe.
